In August 2017, production of primary aluminum in the world showed a decline in the second month consecutively and totaled 4.954 million tons (in July - 5.009 million tons, in June - 5.183 million tons). Decrease in volumes in an annual ratio is 1,26%.
The daily average was slightly less than 0.16 million tons (in July - 0.162 million tons, in June - 0.173 million tons), according to the materials of the International Aluminum Institute. More than half of the aluminum production fell on the metallurgical industry of China, where they reported the release of 2.64 million tons (in July - 2.686 million tons) of this product, which is 2.7% lower than the result of August last year.

For 8 months of the year, primary aluminum producers improved to 40.246 million tons, compared with 38.560 million tons in January-August 2016.
